Any good hip hop artists?

i was living in galway for a while and met a guy that was really in to his hip hop and got me into mos def, dj shadow, beastie boys, mf doom, cypress hill, tricky and eminem. well im not in contact with that guy anymore so i cant get any more recommendations from him, iv looked for artists myself and all iv learned is there is alot of **** hip hop out there. any recommendations from you guys?
