Does medi-cal cover birth control pills?

I went to the doctor on january 22 and got a perscription for birth conrtol. when i took the perscription to the pharmacy they called and said they had to contact my insurance to see if they convered it. then they said they were waiting for the doctor to fax them a new perscription and they would call when its ready, that was on tuesday and its now thursday and they still have not called. does medi-cal not cover birth control pills?
