Why does everyone frown on Satanism, despite an obvious lack of knowledge?

I am a LaVeyan Satanist and I am not here to argue with you. The reason why people jump to conclusions when they hear the name of Satan is because automatically they ume since we call ourselves Satanists and choose to follow our own ways as we please while all the Catholic and Christian people and such choose to live by the book. I have read the information on the the website you provided before I began writing this. I understand your frustration because I feel the same way. Even though I'm a LaVeyan Satanist, I go through the same things myself. Since you put the link of joyofsatan.com there, I'm uming that you're a Spiritual Satanist. Our ways may be different but we're both Satanists. People don't understand us. They have been brain-washed to think as soon as they hear the name "Satan" it just has to be bad. And again, you are right about the fact that they don't know anything about Satanism, yet they still feel like they have the right to criticize us by our ways. And that makes me really angry. But instead of stomping away from those uneducated people, I ask them if they would like to know what Satanism is. If they're willing to listen, I share my knowledge with them. Not the whole book though, just like a general idea of what Satanism is. But if you feel like you don't want to explain yourself and your ways, you are free to walk away too. I don't, it's a thing that we the LaVeyan Satanists do; educate people so that they're not frightened. I don't know if Spiritual Satanism has something like that or not, but I still respect your views of things. And oh, that's also yet another place where the others fail; they don't respect the views of people who think differently than they do. And I like researching about other religions and philosophies and such, to at least have a basic understanding of things. Most Christians don't care about that. I'm sorry, this is a long answer and personally I'm not even done with this but I don't want to write you a whole book as an answer lol
