I have a first date coming up on Friday...it has been over 17 years since I have dated, please help me....?

I don't want to have any awkward moment, I have talked to him for 2 months on the internet, and I am interested in him. I would hate to run into any awkward moments. What are the types of subjects we can discuss during our first date? I would hate to have a too much silence and I fear this would dampen the date.
